Hickory, NC Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Master Scheduler to oversee production planning activities and ensure manufacturing operations align with customer demand, inventory objectives, and production capabilities. This role plays a critical part in coordinating schedules, materials, and resources to support on-time delivery and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will work closely with manufacturing, purchasing, logistics, customer service, and leadership teams to develop realistic production plans that maximize productivity while maintaining inventory control. Primary Responsibilities Create, manage, and continuously update master production schedules to support manufacturing requirements and customer commitments. Evaluate customer orders, forecasts, inventory levels, and production capacity to determine scheduling priorities. Develop achievable production plans by considering equipment availability, labor resources, tooling requirements, and material supply. Monitor schedule performance and proactively adjust plans to address changes in customer demand, production delays, equipment downtime, or supply chain disruptions. Review daily production activities to ensure adherence to established schedules and priorities. Track production orders throughout the manufacturing process and oversee completion and closeout activities. Partner with purchasing and materials teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and packaging components. Work with production leadership to identify and resolve bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and scheduling challenges. Analyze inventory usage trends and recommend planning adjustments to maintain appropriate stock levels while minimizing excess inventory. Coordinate manufacturing output with customer requirements by reviewing work orders and open sales orders. Maintain accurate planning data within ERP systems, including lead times, routing information, and scheduling parameters. Prepare and distribute production schedules, shortage reports, and key planning metrics to management. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on production efficiency, inventory management, and planning accuracy. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of production scheduling experience within an automotive manufacturing environment. Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP or similar platforms) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP). Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Understanding of lean manufacturing principles, process improvement techniques, and supply chain planning concepts. Mechanical aptitude or experience with manufacturing assembly processes is highly desirable. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and complex production schedules while meeting quality and delivery expectations. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments. Experience using data analysis and supply chain planning tools to support operational decision-making and process improvements.
