Job Description
Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Garde Manger to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, food safety, with experience in fine dining and the food industry. This role involves preparing cold dishes, overseeing food presentation, and supporting the culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. This position offers an opportunity to work in a professional kitchen environment where creativity and precision are valued. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to act as a liaison between front and back of house. This role will include also acting as the expeditor for the restaurant. Therefore, they will be responsible for plating food orders and ensuring the food is delivered to the customer's tables rapidly and accurately as well as upholds the standards of the restaurant . Maintaining presentation standards and quality of the food is extremely important to the expeditor's role. It is this person who will maintain the cleanliness of the expo line, organization of order tickets, and communicate effectively with kitchen. Experience as Food Expeditor in a full-service sit-down restaurant is required for this position. Responsibilities Prepare cold dishes such as salads, charcuterie, other appetizers according to menu specification Plate all dishes, placing sides on entrees. Ensuring the food matches the printed ticket. Ensure all food handling and preparation adhere to strict food safety standards Maintain cleanliness and organization of the garde manger station and storage areas Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of high-quality dishes Handle food with care, utilizing proper knife skills for slicing, dicing, and garnishing Uphold sanitation standards during all stages of food preparation and service Requirements Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food service within a restaurant Knowledge of menu planning, food presentation, and culinary techniques specific to garde manger operations Excellent knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation and food handling Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in a professional kitchen setting Fine dining experience Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail Prior experience in the food industry or culinary field is highly desirable Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively This role is integral to delivering exceptional culinary experiences through meticulous dish preparation and presentation.
