Fee-Funded Groups:
Chapman Radio, Panther Newspaper, Student Government Association (SGA), and University Program Board (UPB). The Student Activity Operations Assistant is a member of the Department of Student Engagement and the Division of Student Affairs. Responsibilities Financial Operations Assist with submission, tracking, and reconciliation of purchase requisitions (PO) and non-PO payment requests for fee-funded organization expenditures. Assist with supplier processing in accordance with university fiscal policy. Support coordination of projections, allocations, and tracking of the annual Student Activity Fee revenue. Collaborate with fee-funded organizations to reconcile budgets on a weekly and monthly basis (may be more frequently as requested by supervisor). Pull budget reports and verify status of payments for fee-funded organization student leaders as needed. Student Personnel Operations Support onboarding and track paperwork for student employees within each fee-funded organization. Log student employee completion of relevant and required trainings (such as:
Title IX:
Sexual Harassment Prevention, FERPA, etc.). Administrative Attend weekly meetings with supervisor. Attend meetings of and take minutes for the Student Activity Fee Advisory Committee. Participate in and contribute to Department of Student Engagement programs, services, experiences, and resources as determined by supervisor. Maintain positive working relationships with campus partners from academic/administrative departments (University Financial Services, Purchasing, etc.). Use PeopleSoft, Panther Connect, SharePoint and other university systems appropriately and as required. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Previous experience with and/or background in financial or administrative work. Strong organization and problem solving skills. Desired Qualifications Ability to exercise initiative and work independently. Good time management skills and the ability to prioritize duties when faced with interruptions, distractions, and fluctuating workload. Excellent interpersonal skills working with groups of individuals at all organizational levels, both inside and outside the University. Effective written and oral communication skills; strong editing and proofreading skills. Federal Work Study Award.
