Job Description

The Scheduler plays a vital role in coordinating patient appointments, maintaining accurate scheduling records, and ensuring timely access to healthcare services. This position supports efficient daily operations by managing schedules, communicating appointment details, and collaborating with care teams to minimize delays and optimize resources.

A Day in the Life of the SchedulerAs a Scheduler, you will begin your day managing appointment requests, including scheduling, confirming, rescheduling, and canceling visits according to established guidelines.

Throughout the day, you will verify patient demographics, coordinate appointment availability based on provider schedules and resource capacity, and clearly communicate appointment details, preparation instructions, and required documentation to patients.

You will monitor schedules for accuracy and efficiency, proactively resolving conflicts and ensuring optimal utilization of resources. You will also respond to inquiries via phone and electronic communication, providing prompt, professional customer service.

Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with clinical and administrative teams to ensure readiness for scheduled services and support a smooth patient flow.

QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED requiredMinimum of 3 years of hospital or medical office experience requiredAt least 2 years of administrative and customer service experience requiredProficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and scheduling softwareStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to multitask and work in a fast-paced healthcare environmentStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes preferredWhy Regional West?
