Job Title:
Laboratory Operations Assistant Job Description We are seeking a diligent Laboratory Operations Assistant to join our fast-paced generic pharmaceutical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization within the laboratory, ensuring efficient operations through meticulous attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols. Responsibilities Continuously clean glassware using cleaning machines and scrubbers as needed, and organize and store cleaned glassware in designated areas. Maintain cleanliness of laboratory floors and benches, manage waste disposal, and ensure garbage is not overflowing. Stock lab supplies daily, arrange incoming items in designated places, and apply the First In, First Out (FIFO) inventory method. Help maintain optimal lab inventory by receiving shipments and logging them in the Material Receiving Logbook. Occasionally order lab supplies as required. Gather post-testing reject samples for decontamination, run autoclave cycles for sterilization and decontamination, and organize cleaned glassware for drying and storage. Perform any other duties as requested by laboratory management. Essential Skills High School Diploma or GED - Required 1-2 years experience in a laboratory, preferably in a food, drug, or chemical laboratory. Experience in inventory management and glassware washing. Computer skills for inventory and record-keeping tasks. Additional Skills & Qualifications Associate Degree in Science or a technically related field - Preferred Chemistry degree - Plus Good communication skills to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions. Basic math skills. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English at a level to understand job-related terminology. Flexibility to work overtime and weekend shifts as needed. Work Environment You will work the first shift from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, and flexibility is required to accommodate weekend work and late hours if necessary. The position is part of a Quality Control team consisting of 15-20 members in a very fast-paced environment. The team operates in a generic pharmaceutical setting with a comprehensive training program across various dosage forms, including solids, semi-solids, liquids, suspensions, thermal, inhalation, and injectables. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
