Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Radiology Scheduler to join our healthcare team. The Radiology Scheduler is responsible for coordinating imaging appointments, verifying patient information, and ensuring efficient scheduling operations within the radiology department. The ideal candidate possesses strong communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, and experience working in a medical office or healthcare environment. Responsibilities Schedule radiology and diagnostic imaging appointments including MRI, CT, X-ray, ultrasound, mammography, and nuclear medicine procedures Verify patient demographics, insurance coverage, authorizations, and physician orders prior to scheduling Coordinate appointment availability with radiologists, technologists, and referring providers Provide patients with preparation instructions for imaging procedures Answer incoming calls and respond to scheduling inquiries in a professional and timely manner Reschedule or cancel appointments as needed while maintaining schedule efficiency Enter and update patient information accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) and scheduling systems Obtain and track prior authorizations when required Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations Assist with front desk or administrative duties as needed Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required Previous medical scheduling, radiology scheduling, or healthcare administrative experience preferred Knowledge of medical terminology and imaging procedures Strong computer skills and familiarity with EMR systems Excellent communication, multitasking, and customer service skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with insurance verification and prior authorization processes Bilingual skills are a plus Associate degree or healthcare administrative certification preferred Preferred Skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to prioritize and manage multiple appointments simultaneously Professional phone etiquette and patient interaction skills Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across departments • We will consider for employment all qualified Applicants, including those with criminal histories, in a manner consistent with the requirements of applicable federal, state, and local laws, including the City of Los Angeles' Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance (FCIHO), Los Angeles Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers (ULAC), The San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance (FCO), and the California Fair Chance Act (CFCA). • As a job position within our Revenue Cycle division, a successful completion of a background check may be required as a condition of employment.
