Operations Assistant -
Construction, Operations & Office Location:
Dublin, OH Primary Coverage Area:

Schedule:
Full-time | Fast-paced | Not a 9-5 role About This Role - Read Carefully This is a high-accountability, high-touch operations role that combines: Residential construction field oversight Quality control inspections and reporting Office administration and operations support Customer and subcontractor communication Marketing, advertising, and business support tasks You will work directly with the General Manager and President and will be involved in nearly every area of the business while regularly being on the road visiting homes under construction.
Time breakdown:
Beginning:
~75% field / 25% office & operations Over time: ~50% field / 50% office & operations This role is intentionally designed to give you broad exposure to the entire company , but it comes with constant oversight, communication, and accountability . Accountability, Communication & Daily Reporting (Very Important) This is not a role where you operate independently without oversight. Especially early on, this position is: High-touch Highly structured Closely managed You will have daily check-ins with the General Manager , often multiple times per day, to: Review what you saw on jobsites Discuss issues, concerns, and priorities Confirm what needs to be done next Review completed and pending tasks You will be expected to: Update the General Manager daily on: What you did What you observed What was completed What still needs to be done What other employees and subcontractors are doing Keep information organized, accurate, and documented Write clear daily summaries of your work and findings As you gain experience, trust, and understanding, you will earn more responsibility—but structured reporting and accountability never go away . Year 1: Learn systems, construction standards, reporting, communication, and execution Year 2: Take ownership of larger operational responsibilities Year 3+: Become involved in leadership, managing others, and operational decision-making High performers will: Be trusted with larger responsibilities Support the GM and President in managing the company Be involved in company-wide operations and decisions Grow into higher-level operations leadership roles Key ResponsibilitiesField Operations & Quality Control (Primary Early Focus) Drive to homes under construction within ~1 hour of Columbus Inspect jobsite progress, quality, and conditions Identify concerns, delays, and quality issues Document findings clearly and accurately Report observations and action items daily to the GM Learn construction sequencing, terminology, and standards Assist with light labor or jobsite tasks when needed Office, Operations & Communication Write professional emails and reports Handle phone calls with subcontractors, customers, and vendors Track tasks, follow-ups, and responsibilities Support customer communication when needed Coordinate with internal team members and subcontractors Create meeting agendas and track action items Assist with documenting processes and systems Support marketing, advertising, recruiting, onboarding, and administrative tasks Work across production, project management, purchasing, estimating, and customer service This role requires constant task-switching, documentation, and communication . Travel Requirements (Important) First few months (training period): Travel to Pittsburgh, PA approximately once per week , typically one overnight stay , for hands-on training.
After training:
Travel reduces to every other week , and potentially once per month . Candidates must be comfortable with this schedule. Qualifications Required:
Strong work ethic and accountability Comfort with frequent check-ins and reporting Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong computer skills and organization Ability to operate in both field and office environments Willingness to learn construction concepts and terminology Physically capable of being on jobsites regularly Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Preferred (Not Required): Construction, project management, or field operations experience Operations or administrative experience Marketing or advertising exposure Excel, QuickBooks, or similar systems experience Experience in highly structured, high-accountability environments Final Note - Be Honest With Yourself This role is demanding and closely managed , but for the right person it offers rare exposure to how a real construction business operates at a high level .

Are you comfortable being on active residential construction sites, walking homes under construction, identifying issues, and assisting with light physical tasks when needed? You will be working closely with leadership that communicates professionally but very directly and quickly. Feedback is focused on results, not feelings. How do you handle this?
