Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Scheduler/Yard Operations Specialist to assist in the coordination of transportation activities and yard management. In this role, you will ensure efficient scheduling of freight movements, be involved in yard operations among other responsibilities. Your proactive approach will help optimize logistics workflows, improve dispatching accuracy, and support overall supply chain efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment where precision, communication, and problem-solving are essential. Duties Maintain detailed transportation schedules using a transportation management system (TMS) Coordinate with drivers, carriers, warehouse staff, and clients to schedule pickups, deliveries, and yard activities while adhering to safety protocols. Manage yard operations by overseeing shipping & receiving processes. Communication with drivers and internal teams regarding schedule changes or delays. Conduct data entry related to shipments, freight details, and yard activities with high accuracy and attention to detail. Maintain comprehensive records of all transportation activities, incident reports, inbound/outbound logs, and yard audits for compliance and reporting purposes. Requirements Excellent communication skills with phone etiquette expertise for dispatching and coordinating with multiple stakeholders. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in data entry and scheduling tasks. Strong organizational skills combined with problem-solving abilities to handle unexpected disruptions or delays effectively.
