Job Description
Position Summary:
The primary function of this position is to ensure appropriate staffing levels in nursing are routinely achieved to meet resident needs and state requirements. This will be achieved by creating, posting and maintaining a staffing schedule for the nursing department that is both accurate and timely. Essential Duties 1. Develops and oversees the staffing schedule for the Nursing Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurses and Registered Nurses. 2. Maintains posted schedule to reflect all changes such as call-offs, leaves of absence, replacements, etc. 3. Allocates employees to different roles and/or shifts to ensure adequate coverage. 4. Strategizes and provides creative solutions to cover shifts to meet staffing ratios. 5. Resolves scheduling issues with company staff and agency personnel in an amicable and timely manner. 6. Works closely with staffing agencies to fill available shifts in an appropriate manner. 7. InformsDON/ADON/NHA
of vacancies, scheduling inconsistencies, and unresolved scheduling issues in advance. 8. Monitors overtime when scheduling full-time staff and ensures proper utilization of casual and part-time employees. 9. Verifies employee and agency work hours with the company's payroll department and/or staffing agency to ensure appropriate payment is being made. 10. Tracks and schedules holiday and vacation requests. 11. Completes staffing patterns for all units and daily staffing postings. 12. Completes daily Nursing PPD (Per patient day) and reports it toDON/ADON/NHA. 13.
Carries out various duties in compliance with internal company policies, agency contracts, and other external guidelines. Educational Requirements 1. High school graduate or equivalent. 2. Strong verbal and interpersonal skills. 3. Ability to read, write, type and understand English. 4. Required computer experience, especially word and excel programs. 5. Ability to work with minimal supervision and within a team environment. 6. Preferred CNA or LPN 14. Completes other duties related to resident confidential records as directed by Nurse Managers. 15. Must maintain confidentiality of all resident and employee information.Pay:
