Job Description

Prion Manufacturing is a leading producer of Precision Machined Machine Products, specializing in high-volume machining for a wide variety of industries. Since 1955, we've been dedicated to turning our customers' designs into custom manufacturing solutions. We are seeking a Manufacturing Operations Coordinator to support high‑volume CNC and other machining operations. This position serves as the central link between customers, vendors, production, and management to ensure accurate order flow, material availability, and efficient shop execution. Key Responsibilities Order Management & Customer Coordination Enter and review customer orders for accuracy, pricing, lead times, and specifications Act as primary customer contact for order status, scheduling updates, and delivery commitments Coordinate engineering changes, revisions, and customer requirements with the shop floor Maintain accurate records in the ERP/MRP system Initial Production Planning Perform initial production planning based on customer demand, capacity, and priorities Release work orders to the shop in coordination with the General Manager and supervisors Identify potential capacity constraints and escalate issues proactively Assist with sequencing and prioritization to support on‑time delivery Support continuous improvement of planning and workflow processes Purchasing & Vendor Coordination Purchase raw materials, components, outside processing, tooling, and shop supplies Maintain communication with vendors regarding pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules Monitor material availability to ensure uninterrupted production Assist with supplier evaluation and cost control efforts Operations Support Serve as a communication hub between customers, production, vendors, and management Monitor order progress and help resolve issues impacting delivery or quality Maintain documentation related to orders, planning, and purchasing Support inventory control Assist with ERP/MRP data accuracy and reporting Qualifications & Skills Required Experience in a manufacturing environment (machine shop preferred) Strong understanding of production flow, materials, and lead times Excellent organizational and multitasking skills in a high‑volume setting Strong communication skills with customers, vendors, and internal teams Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) Ability to prioritize work and make sound decisions with limited supervision Preferred Experience with CNC machining, job shop, or high‑volume manufacturing Production planning or scheduling experience Purchasing or vendor management experience
Work Environment:
Office and Shop Floor; PPE required. Salary Commensurate with experience.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
