Special Education Program-Five Star Sunbury, PA. The anticipated start date is August 4, 2026 for the 2026-27 school year.ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP
Operations Assistant will report directly to the Program Supervisor and in their absence to the Director of Special Education and Alternative Placement.JOB DEFINITION
The Operations Assistant will be responsible for the overseeing all aspects of the School Nutrition Program (SNP) for students within the 5 Star Program. The Operations Assistant will also be responsible for daily cleaning and summer deep cleaning for the program.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Communicates with the local school district to arrange breakfast and lunch daily. Check that all meal components received are following the School Nutrition Program (SNP). Maintain required documentation as mandated for approved School Nutrition Programs (temperature logs, daily lunch orders, daily meal counts, production records and menu revisions) and submit as indicated on a monthly basis to providing district and/orCSIU SNP
designated staff. Organizes all required school nutrition program documentation and submits to school nutrition program administrator following scheduled due dates. Follow United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) guidelines, including but not limited to Civil Rights, Officer VS Serve, ServSafe, and follow all regulations. Oversees and maintains documentation for additional staff required to complete annual trainings as per USDA guidelines, including but not limited to Civil Rights, Offer VS Serve, ServSafe, and follow all guidelines and regulations for staff who have school nutrition program responsibilities. Works with the USDA for compliance with inspection of food safety twice/year. Ensure that all current required SNP related notices, menus and current food inspection reports are posted in a publicly visible location. Work with providing district staff regarding pick-up and delivery of daily meals and any revisions needed to menus. Serve meals on a daily basis and organize proper cleanup of serving area, cleaning of plates, utensils and serving containers, and lunchroom and ensure that providing district's items are returned. Keep an inventory of supplies (paper products) needed for meal service and place orders as needed. Creates staff schedules for serving meals for the program. Pick up, transport and/or accept breakfast and lunch daily. General center clean-up, e.g., sweep floors, empty trash, clean bathroom, fill Clorox bottles, mop floors, scour sinks, clean mirrors, clean garbage cans, etc. The following duties and responsibilities will be assigned on a daily basis: clean horizontal surfaces- classroom desks, conference room tables, staff desks, etc. vacuum and wet mop cafeteria and kitchen floors with disinfectant wipe down the stove, refrigerator, sink, and counter area empty and reline all trash cans on all floors clean restrooms

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or designee.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED
A High School Diploma or equivalent General Education Diploma (GED) is required. Work experience and training with USDA guidelines, including but not limited to Civil Rights, Offer VS Serve, and ServSafe is preferred. Must have an interest in and concern for children and their families. Must have a willingness to learn. A demonstrated knowledge of basic food preparation, proper conditions of food storage, and basic math skills for measuring and calculating food portions is required. Must have the ability to understand and follow special food plans for food allergic children or for children with other food service special needs. Knowledge sanitary procedures. Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize duties based on deadlines and maintain a high level of productivity. Must have ability to communicate and work effectively with colleagues, co-workers, community agency personnel, and students/trainees. Requires the ability to develop and maintain positive and collaborative relationships using tact and diplomacy and to remain calm in unpredictable situations.ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Current, approved Act 34 (PA State Police), Act 151 (PA Child Abuse Registry) and Act 114-FBI Fingerprint clearances are required and must be renewed at appropriate, specific intervals pursuant to Act 153 of 2014 (revised Act 15 of 2015). Current, approved Act 126 Mandated Reporter Training certificate showing completion of a minimum of three (3) hours training every five (5) years.PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT REQUIREMENTS
Maintain required annual trainings as per USDA guidelines, including but not limited to Civil Rights, Offer VS Serve, and ServSafe. Attend and make use of appropriate training and make use of appropriate training as requested by immediate supervisor.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sedentary:
Able to sit for extended periods of time, occasional walking, standing (as necessary) and strength and ability to lift insulated carriers packed with lunch foods (approx. 50 lbs.). Ability to serve food to children and adults in a specified time period.Dexterity:
Finger movements (computer keyboard, calculator), eye-hand coordination (office equipment, etc.).Audio-Visual Requirements:
Within normal range with or without correction. Is able to move throughout all buildings, floors and grounds.Worksite Environment:
Primarily indoors-office setting with occasional exposure to outdoor elements/climate during the day. Mental demands: Steady response to unpredictable situations, ability to remain calm and productive during stressful situations. Demonstrates independent judgment, discretion and is able to manage multiple projects and deadlines. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Ability to travel to various work site locations and meetings as needed.TIME AND SITE REQUIREMENTS
This is a non-exempt, 200 day full-time position and follows the program school-year schedule. Additional working hours must be pre-approved by immediate supervisor. Attendance at work is a requirement of this position; any and all absences must be approved by the immediate supervisor.CSIU PROPERTY AND CONFIDENTIALITY REQUIREMENTS

It may not be used for personal profit or gain and will be relinquished to the CSIU upon termination of employment from the CSIU. The person employed in this position shall maintain confidentiality with regard to the personal and private information about clients and coworkers, programs and services and any other proprietary information accrued as a result of CSIU employment or as required by state or federal laws and regulations. The person employed in this position must adhere to all requirements identified in the code of professionalism entitled "Ambassadors Are Professionals, Too" and CSIU Administrative Regulation 317-AR-1 CSIU Service Standards.
