Job Description

The PenFed Foundation is hiring a (Hybrid) Development Operations Coordinator at our Tysons, Virginia location. The Development Operations Coordinator supports the efficiency and effectiveness of the development team through database management, gift processing, and operational coordination. This role ensures the integrity of donor data within Salesforce, facilitates timely and accurate gift acknowledgment, and provides administrative and logistical support for fundraising initiatives and board engagement. The coordinator plays a key role in maintaining organized processes, supporting strategic campaigns and enabling smooth day-to-day departmental operations. Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered. Bachelor s degree in nonprofit management, business administration or related field preferred 2-4 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising operations, database management or administrative support Experience working with CRM systems (Salesforce) and maintaining data integrity. Familiarity with gift processing, donor records and reporting Experience supporting invoicing and budget tracking preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. High attention to detail and accuracy, especially with data entry and reporting Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience using AI tools preferred. Supervisory Responsibility This position will not supervise employees. Licenses and Certifications There are no additional certifications required. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise. •Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.• Travel Ability to travel to various worksites and be on call may is required. Manage and maintain the Salesforce database, including accurate data entry, updates, reporting and data integrity monitoring. Oversee gift processing workflows, ensuring timely entry, acknowledgment, tracking and follow up of donations. Support development campaigns and fundraising initiatives through coordination of mailings, outreach logistics and related activities. Prepare high-quality board materials, including meeting packets, reports and presentations. Record and maintain accurate meeting minutes and support board processes to ensure efficient and well-organized meetings. Assist with invoicing, budget tracking, and internal financial documentation related to development activities. Provide administrative and operational support to the development team ensuring smooth workflows and effective communication. Collaborate with team members to improve reporting capabilities and overall operational efficiency. Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental goals and priorities. •This role is responsible for ensuring business continuity.•
