X-Ray Associates of New Mexico is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused employee to join our Santa Fe team as a Patient Services & Interventional Radiology Assistant. This hybrid role supports both the front office and Interventional Radiology (IR) department, helping ensure a smooth and positive experience for our patients. Position Summary The Patient Services & Interventional Assistant is responsible for scheduling and registering patients, obtaining and reviewing required documentation, assisting with insurance and authorization processes, and supporting the daily workflow of the Interventional Radiology department. This position works closely with patients, physicians, technologists, nurses, and radiologists to ensure exams and procedures are completed efficiently and accurately. Essential Duties Schedule imaging and interventional procedures while providing patients with preparation instructions. Register patients and verify demographics, insurance information, authorizations, and required documentation. Conduct appointment confirmation calls and answer patient questions. Review upcoming IR appointments to ensure orders, labs, pathology reports, prior imaging, and authorizations are complete. Coordinate with referring physician offices to obtain missing information and resolve scheduling issues. Monitor patient flow and assist with patient escorting, gowning instructions, and general departmental support. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist clinical staff with administrative and support tasks as needed. Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a professional and compassionate approach to patient care.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required. One year of customer service experience required. Medical office, patient care, scheduling, or radiology experience preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
