Operations Specialist Job Description:
Provide phone, email and overall operations coverage in the office after standard business hours.
Duties:
Answer every call.
Trouble shoot the issues of each caller and assist them to the best of your ability.
Perform all necessary check calls (any loads that have a pick-up or delivery falling w/in your shift).
Use your best decision making when deciding on when to involve a broker or team lead in a situation to aide in the decision making
Monitor (babysit) any high priority loads specifically pointed out by day shift or manually designated in the system.
Make calls and be able to cover any loads that you receive calls on from interested carriers.
Generate EFS wire codes for lumpers or other authorized addition costs (use extreme caution and properly qualify the party calling in requesting the monetary advance).
Attempt to recover any load that a carrier might call in and fall off of (immediately notify the broker via a call-in).
Record each issue and each call as a call-in in the system.
Properly notify the shipper/receiver and/or customer of any delays.
