Job Description

Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented Project Scheduler - Sitework to develop, maintain, and communicate robust schedules for civil/site construction projects. This role ensures accurate progress reporting and schedule updates, integrates cost and schedule data, supports delay and risk analyses, and coordinates with field teams, contractors, and stakeholders to keep sitework activities (excavation, grading, drainage, paving, utilities, erosion control) on track. The ideal candidate combines hands-on civil/site knowledge with strong project-controls tool experience and proven scheduling methodology.

Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, update and maintain master and lookahead schedules for sitework using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Asta Powerproject or equivalent, ensuring alignment with project baselines and milestones.

Prepare regular progress reports, schedule status updates, and variance analyses for project management, owners, and stakeholders using Power BI, Tableau or advanced Excel reporting (pivot tables, macros).Perform critical path analysis, earned value management (EVM) reporting, resource leveling, and schedule compression techniques (crashing/fast-tracking) to mitigate impacts and optimize sequencing.

Integrate cost and schedule data (S-curves) and coordinate with cost control teams to support forecast and cashflow analysis.

Conduct time impact/delay analysis, forensic schedule reviews, and schedule risk analyses using Primavera Risk Analysis/@RISK or equivalent tools; recommend mitigation strategies and update schedules accordingly.

Support construction sequencing and execution planning for earthworks, compaction, dewatering, stormwater management, backfill, utilities, paving, drainage and erosion control activities; review site logistics and constructability concerns.

Manage baseline development and maintenance, change management schedule updates, and contractor submittal/document control schedules (Procore, e-Builder, Viewpoint).Read and interpret site plans and civil drawings (AutoCAD/Civil 3D) to develop accurate activity logic and durations; coordinate with engineers and field superintendents to validate assumptions.

Lead and facilitate progress meetings, stakeholder coordination sessions, and schedule review workshops; clearly communicate schedule impacts and recovery options to project leadership.

Maintain and enforce scheduling standards and best practices consistent with AACE, PMI and company protocols; provide guidance and training to project teams as needed.

Ensure scheduling practices and recommendations comply with OSHA/construction safety standards and incorporate safety-related constraints into sequencing and resource plans.

QualificationsBachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Minimum 5 years of progressive scheduling or project controls experience on heavy civil/sitework projects (earthworks, utilities, paving, drainage).Demonstrated expertise in progress reporting and schedule updates; required experience with Procore (project controls) and document/submittal scheduling workflows.

Proficiency with one or more scheduling tools: Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Asta Powerproject; familiarity with CPM scheduling methodologies.

Experience with earned value management (EVM), critical path analysis, baseline development, time impact/delay analysis, forensic schedule analysis and schedule risk analysis.

Strong skills in advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, macros) and experience creating dashboards/reports with Power BI or Tableau.

Experience integrating cost and schedule (S-curves) and performing resource levelingWorking knowledge of sitework and civil construction activities: excavation, grading, compaction, dewatering, stormwater, utilities, drainage, paving and erosion control.

Familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil 3D plan reading, e-Builder, Viewpoint and common project controls systems.

Knowledge of scheduling standards and tools such as AACE, Primavera Risk Analysis/@RISK, and PMI best practices.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to lead progress meetings and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
Preferred:
Primavera P6 certification, OSHA 30, experience with Forensic/Delay analysis reports, and prior use of Procore/e-Builder on large civil projects.
