Role:
Our client is a leading global pharmaceutical company looking to bring on a Project Scheduler for a major capital project at their North Chicago campus. This is a large multi-phase reactor building renovation on one of the biggest pharma campuses in the country. The right candidate will maintain and build onto a complex MS Project schedule, run two-week lookaheads, coordinate across construction, CQV, project controls, and operations teams, and keep leadership proactively updated on project status. Day to
Day Responsibilities:
Maintain and build onto an existing MS Project schedule with hundreds of activities across multiple concurrent construction phases Run two-week lookahead schedules by discipline Coordinate schedule inputs from the Construction Manager, CQV coordinator, project controls, and operations teams Track float, identify schedule risks, and proactively communicate issues to leadership Attend weekly schedule review meetings and produce schedule narratives and updates Support change control tracking and ensure change control is reflected accurately in the schedule Coordinate with CQV coordinator to ensure commissioning, qualification, and validation milestones are integrated into the master schedule
Must Haves:
7+ years of project scheduling experience Pharma, biotech, or regulated manufacturing capital construction scheduling experience — non-negotiable MS Project proficiency — must be able to filter, run lookaheads, identify float, and manage a complex multi-hundred line schedule Understanding of pharma project phases including change control as a gating item and CQV at the tail end of construction Strong communication skills — this role requires chasing down inputs from multiple stakeholders and holding contractors accountable Assertive, self-directed personality — must be able to push back when needed and operate without hand-holding Local to Chicagoland — client does not pay travel Nice to
Have:
Primavera P6 proficiency GMP or cGMP environment experience Experience walking construction sites to verify schedule accuracy Food manufacturing scheduling experience PMP or PMI-SP certification About the
