Full Job Description Position Summary:
RICHARD (RDS) is seeking a responsible, skilled, flexible, and highly organized Project Expeditor.
Role Overview:
The Expeditor is responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of major equipment and materials for the industrial and petrochemical project(s) they are assigned. The expeditors act as a liaison between Procurement, Engineering, Logistics, Vendors/Suppliers, and the Engineering Project Team. The role further incorporates proactive, direct communication between Construction and Clients. Expeditor will ensure the equipment / material status is accurately documented and reported to the entire Project Team on a timely basis.
Responsibilities:
Will expedite, track, and report on all items associated with the respective Project Issued Purchase Orders Schedule / set-up / conduct all required "kick-off" meetings, expediting meetings, status alignment meetings and Client requested meetings with Project Team and Vendors Monitor the status of the approval drawing cycle, communicate with all invested parties and coordinate the delivery of the order's shipments between the vendor and final delivery location Issue accurate equipment / material status reports with attention to detail and provide timely reporting of the information from order placement to completion / delivery of equipment / material Provide Project Scheduler updated information to reflect "Planned to Forecast to Actual" dates to maintain a sound reliable Project Schedule Provide timely notice of pending deliveries to key Project Team personnel Work with the Project Team in identifying delays, critical path concerns, and working with the Project Team and the Vendor to enact viable recovery plans where required Ensure final documentation is submitted for completion of the Purchase Order The duties and responsibilities described above are not a comprehensive list and additional tasks may be assigned to the employee from time to time, or the scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 5 years direct experience in petrochemical / industrial in procurement / expediting. Supply Chain, Materials Management, and logistic experience a plus. BBA Degree in Management, Construction Management, Supply Chain, or relevant direct experience specifically in expediting of engineered equipment Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly in Word & Excel, with strong familiarity with Primavera (P6) for scheduling with and some knowledge of ERP software like Oracle or SAP Possess working knowledge of latest Incoterm for both domestic and international shipments Detail-oriented and meticulous work ethic Excellent organizational Skills Proficiency in both verbal and written communication Possess strong problem-solving skills Self-motivated and able to multi-task multiple projects simultaneously. Function well under pressure and prioritize tasks to meet tight project deadlines Provide support and resolve unexpected bottlenecks and proactively manage various schedules. Comprehend the contents of the commercial Purchase Orders, basic engineering specifications, shipping / logistical documents, packing lists / bills of ladens Team oriented
Work Environment:
The Position would be located in office at one of RICHARD offices (Beaumont, Houston or Corpus Christi) It is an administrative office setting, and the employee will need to communicate with others in person, over the phone, and through email. The employee should be physically able to carry out the required tasks. They may need to visit clients or manufacturing facilities, so it's important that the employee is in good physical health in order to travel, attend meetings at various locations, and perform other duties as required.
