POSITION SUMMARY
The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for scheduling patients surgical procedures at various entities in accordance with established protocols. Obtain the appropriate information, orders and clearance from the surgeon.

Verify Insurance benefits Obtain insurance pre-certifications and collect money Great customer Service skills Must be well organized Good Communication Skills Be able to work in a fast paced environment Practices with ethical and legal guidelines Knows and demonstrates patient care services that ensures the safety, comfort, and protection of patient Knows and demonstrates surgery paperwork requirements Knows and demonstrates consent protocol for clinic surgery procedure Problem solves paperwork and provides an expedient solution, as needed Maintains records and reports of any cancellation and rescheduling of patients as well as notifying physicians of the changes Works with clinic supervisors to problem solve surgery sign up Perform other duties as assigned

Ability to work independently and have strong organizational and time management skills Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills Ability to work under pressure Dependable Exercises safe judgment in decision making Demonstrates tact and understanding when dealing with patients, team members, members of other disciplines, and the public Must possess honesty, integrity, and accountability
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The Surgery Scheduler will work primarily in an office office/clinic setting.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner Requires repetitive hand motion Minimal lifting and carrying requirements TRAVEL Minimal travel required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED Experience not required
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bilingual 1 + years of surgery scheduling experience
