The Operations Specialist (OS) supports American Preparatory Academy by helping maintain a safe, clean, organized, and effective learning environment. The position assists with daily campus operations, including student drop-off and pickup, event setups, facility maintenance, custodial needs, deliveries, supplies, emergency drills, and other operational needs. The Operations Specialist is expected to be reliable, proactive, and willing to assist wherever needed to support students and staff

Duties & Responsibilities:

The position includes but is not limited to the following list of representative duties: Direct traffic and pedestrians during student drop-off and pickup and maintain related traffic controls Set up and arrange furniture and equipment for events, assemblies, meetings, concerts, and other activities Perform routine maintenance and assist with inspections of buildings, equipment, furniture, and vehicles Assist with snow and ice removal, emergency drills, and other campus safety needs Maintain clean, orderly, and well-stocked facilities, including restrooms and common areas Remove garbage and recycling and coordinate pickups Order, receive, organize, and properly use custodial supplies, chemicals, and other materials Perform minor repairs and maintenance such as replacing light bulbs and filters and making minor equipment and furniture repairs Accept and assist with deliveries and maintain workplace organization Safely operate tools, powered equipment, and other equipment necessary to perform assigned duties Proactively identify and address operational needs and support staff as needed Other duties as assigned

Schedule:

Typical schedule is Monday

• Friday, 7:30 am
• 4:00 pm or 8:00 am
• 4:30 pm (schedule may vary based on campus needs)

Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Energetic, positive, reliable, and committed to serving students and staff Ability to accept constructive criticism and make necessary adjustments Able to work well in a teamwork environment Strong problem-solving, communication, organization, and time management skills Ability to work independently and effectively in a dynamic environment Basic technology skills including email, phone applications, and computer programs Knowledge of basic maintenance, custodial practices, workplace chemicals, and safety procedures preferred Sound judgment and ability to consistently follow safety procedures Flexible, adaptable, and able to remain professional in changing or stressful situations Able to frequently lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs Able to frequently push, pull, lift, bend, stoop, kneel, climb stairs, and work on ladders Able to stand and walk for most of the workday and work outdoors in various weather conditions Able to safely work around chemicals, dust, fumes, bodily fluids, slippery surfaces, loud noises, and other environmental hazards Able to properly use required personal protective equipment and respond appropriately to emergency situations

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required Experience in facilities, maintenance, custodial, operations, or similar work is preferred Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check as required for individuals working with children and young adults Subject to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with school policy Share job details to
