Our Company Rocktown Transport is a family-owned contract carrier based in the Shenandoah Valley, specializing in the transportation of agricultural commodities including live birds, bulk feed, and related ingredients. We proudly partner with customers ranging from individual family farms to large corporate poultry companies and cooperatives. Transportation Operations Assistant Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
Pay:
$19-$23 / hour Position Overview Rocktown Transport, LLC is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Transportation Operations Assistant. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth operations by supporting drivers and maintaining accurate administrative processes. Duties & Responsibilities Ensure daily operations are running efficiently and effectively Coordinate and communicate with customer locations to schedule and update product pick-up and delivery times based on demand Ensure payroll is accurate, complete, and submitted on time Notify drivers of random drug testing requirements and ensure proper documentation and authorizations are completed Conduct weekly equipment checks to ensure proper utilization, compliance, and driver safety Coordinate equipment repairs and scheduled maintenance with the maintenance shop Prepare accurate reports for daily billing Qualifications & Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail Ability to problem-solve and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is dependable, proactive, and comfortable working in a transportation and agricultural environment. This individual should be able to balance administrative responsibilities while supporting operational needs and maintaining strong communication with drivers, customers, and management teams.
Pay:
$19.00 - $23.00 per hour
