Job Description
Job description About J&R Marketing We're a Rhode Island-based marketing agency that helps businesses grow through branding, websites, digital marketing, media production, and custom apparel, marketing and printing services. What makes us different is that everything is done in-house, from website development to video production to apparel and promotional printing, our team works together under one roof to deliver consistent, high-quality work. We're a small but growing team in a real growth phase, and we're investing in the structure that lets us scale well. That's where this role comes in. This is a genuine ground-floor opportunity to help shape how the company runs, with room to grow as we do. The Role This is the operational backbone of our office. You'll be the person who keeps things organized, consistent, and moving, the one who makes sure things don't slip through the cracks. Part of the role is front-facing: you'll be the first point of contact for customers who call or walk in. The bigger part is behind the scenes: building and maintaining the systems, follow-through, and organization that keep a busy company running smoothly. A lot of what you'll own is work that currently has no single owner, which means you'll see the direct impact of getting it done. If you're someone who likes bringing order to things, takes ownership without being chased, and feels genuinely satisfied when a messy process becomes a clean one, this role was built for you. You'll work closely with management and report directly to the owner. We'll train you, but you should be someone who picks things up quickly and runs with them. We'll train you. But you should be someone who takes ownership, stays on top of things, and gets things done the right way. What This Role Is Not Not just answering phones Not purely administrative or accounting Not a sales or "closer" position Not a "wait to be told what to do" role Why This Role Matters You'll help the whole company run more smoothly, take work off the plates of people stretched too thin, and make sure our customers and team are taken care of. This role grows over time. You'll start with the fundamentals and take on more as you get comfortable, with training and support at every step, not everything at once. As the company grows, the role grows with you, with real opportunity to take on more responsibility and ownership.
