Job Description

Northern GearMachining is a family-owned, precision CNC machining manufacturer serving major OEM customers as a Tier 1 supplier of high-quality machined components and assemblies. We are looking for a Production Planner / Scheduler to join our team. This role is responsible for creating, releasing, and monitoring work orders based on customer demand and forecasts. The right candidate will work closely with Production and other departments to develop and maintain an effective production schedule, communicate with customers regarding delivery timing, and help ensure we consistently meet customer expectations. Key Responsibilities Enter customer orders accurately and timely Launch work orders to Production Coordinate scheduling with outside vendors Work with Production to align schedules, shifts, and workforce coverage with customer needs Monitor work order status throughout the shop Analyze customer demand data and forecast future requirements Prepare and submit Advance Shipping Notices (ASNs) Provide customers with status updates and delivery communication Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to ensure product requirements are met Qualifications and Skills Practical experience in production planning, materials planning, forecasting, and inventory control Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Experience using MRP/ERP systems Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Extensive experience in a manufacturing environment Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to communicate effectively with internal departments, customers, and vendors Why Join Northern GearMachining?
