Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Assistant to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing outgoing orders, receiving incoming shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring products are packaged and shipped efficiently. The Retail Shipping and Receiving Assistant is responsible for supporting the overall retail performance through efficient back-of-house execution.
Responsibilities:
Manage outgoing customer orders - pick, pack and fulfill shipping in a timely manner. Receive and inspect incoming inventory shipments, examining all goods for quality control. Process all new merchandise to include tagging and custom packaging. Organize and stock inventory, maintaining accurate inventory records. Assist with inventory counts and stock replenishment. Report inventory discrepancies and / or damaged merchandise. Oversee customer relations and online inquiries in a professional and timely manner. Keep warehouse, office and all storage spaces clean and organized. Support, manage, and oversee the Shipping and Receiving Director and assist in general operational tasks as needed.
Requirements:
Previous shipping, warehouse, retail, fulfillment experience preferred (but not required). A high level of ownership, accountability and initiative. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Organizational skills and high attention to detail. Highly developed written, oral and tech communication skills. Able to multi-task, use good judgment to balance multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work under pressure. Strong customer service skills and a passion for providing a superior customer experience.
The Extras:
Shopify (or other e-commerce platform) knowledge a plus. Must be comfortable standing for extended periods. Comfortable using materials such as ladders, carts and be able to maneuver boxes up to 50 pounds.
