JOB DESCRIPTION - RAW MATERIAL SAMPLING CLERK
(QUALITY)Position Overview (Preamble) This position is responsible for providing reliable and timely sampling of all incoming raw materials (ingredients and components) in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.

Sample raw materials and components for release to production. Test and analyze incoming raw materials. Understand and follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and Good Documentation Practices . Review work instructions and procedures related to raw material testing. Update raw material status within inventory and tracking systems. Assist Warehouse Associates and Quality Inspectors as needed. Support investigations related to raw material complaints. Conduct audits and inspections of internal storage practices. Perform trailer inspections and document corrective actions when needed. Provide accurate information to suppliers and Purchasing regarding non-conformances. Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines and schedule expectations. Communicate release status and any issues in a timely manner to support production needs. Maintain a safe and organized work area and perform duties in accordance with company safety policies. Comply with all SOPs and GMPs. Non-Essential Functions / Additional Duties Perform other related duties as assigned. Assist with cycle counts during year-end inventory. Essential RequirementsEducation High School Diploma or equivalent required AA degree in a science-related field or equivalent college coursework preferred Experience (Preferred) Experience in a regulated environment (food manufacturing preferred) Previous warehousing experience Minimum 1 year forklift experience preferred Skills and Abilities Required Strong interpersonal and communication skills Highly organized with attention to cleanliness, accuracy, and detail Decision-making and problem-solving capability Flexible and able to adjust priorities as needed Ability to read, write, and speak English well enough to complete tasks and communicate effectively Ability to interface with employees at various levels Basic recordkeeping skills Computer literate, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and other operating systems Self-directed with the ability to prioritize and manage workload Physical Requirements The physical demands described are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this job. Light level of physical effort required, including walking, standing, and sitting at a workstation Significant mental and visual effort required to ensure accuracy of information entered into software systems Ability to see letters and numbers on a computer screen and printed documents (near vision) Ability to talk to and hear individuals contacted during work activities Moderate hand coordination required for keyboard and computer use Unusual Hazards / Work Conditions Work may be subject to interruptions, which can create stress and mental fatigue Must remain alert in shipping/receiving areas due to high forklift traffic
