Full Time Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join our Parts team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the shipment and receipt of goods, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently. This position requires communication with various departments and external partners, as well as meticulous record-keeping and inventory management. -
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Shipping:
  • Prepare and package outgoing shipments accurately and securely. Verify the contents of outgoing packages against shipping orders or invoices. Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments. Maintain knowledge of shipping regulations, rates, and procedures. Prepare and complete shipping documents (e.g., bills of lading, customs declarations).
  • Receiving:
  • Inspect incoming shipments for damages and verify accuracy against purchase orders. Record and report discrepancies or damages to the appropriate departments. Safely unload and store received goods in designated locations. Maintain an organized and efficient receiving area.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Update inventory records in the company's database or inventory management system. Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with annual inventory audits. Make recommendations for inventory replenishment, as needed.
  • Documentation & Compliance:
  • Maintain accurate shipping and receiving logs and records. Support compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Assist in the implementation of process improvements to enhance workflow efficiency.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with warehouse staff, customer service, and other departments to ensure timely shipments and receipts. Communicate effectively with suppliers and carriers regarding any issues or inquiries. -
  • Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations is a plus. Proficiency in computer software (e.g., MS Office, inventory management systems). Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Good communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to lift heavy packages (up to [insert weight]) and operate forklifts or pallet jacks, if required.
