Shipping and Receiving Associate Owen Equipment Sales - 3.9 Fairfield, CA Job Details Full-time $23 an hour 19 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Position Summary The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for accurately processing incoming and outgoing shipments, verifying inventory, and maintaining organized operations. This role ensures timely, accurate order fulfillment and smooth day-to-day flow of parts and equipment through the warehouse. Key Responsibilities Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips. Accurately pick, pack, and prepare outgoing orders for shipment. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely. Enter and update inventory records in the warehouse management or ERP system. Label, organize, and store parts and equipment in designated warehouse locations. Coordinate with carriers and freight companies to schedule pickups and deliveries. Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs paperwork when applicable. Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits. Identify and report damaged, missing, or incorrect shipments. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and shipping area. Communicate with sales, purchasing, and service teams regarding order status and shipment timing. Follow all safety protocols and procedures for material handling and equipment operation. Assist with loading and unloading trucks and containers. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
1-2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or inventory-related role preferred.
Technical Skills:
Familiarity with inventory or warehouse management systems; basic computer and data entry skills.
Knowledge:
Understanding of shipping/receiving processes, packaging standards, and safety regulations (OSHA).
Other:
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Forklift certification, or willingness to obtain certification. Experience with ERP or warehouse management software. Physical Requirements / Work Environment Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally. Warehouse environment, including standing, bending, and walking for extended periods, with exposure to varying temperatures and noise. Travel and Schedule Expectations Minimal to no travel required. Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime based on business needs.
Education:
