La Verne, CA Job Details Full-time $19 - $21 an hour 14 hours ago Qualifications Computer operation High school diploma or GED Cross-functional communication Full Job Description Shipping Clerk Position Summary The Shipping Clerk is responsible for preparing, processing, and coordinating outgoing shipments to customers and distribution centers. This role ensures accurate order fulfillment, proper documentation, and timely delivery while maintaining compliance with company procedures and California safety regulations. The Shipping Clerk works closely with warehouse, production, and customer service teams to support efficient operations. Key Responsibilities Prepare and process outbound shipments, including picking, packing, labeling, and staging materials Verify shipment accuracy against invoices, packing lists, and customer orders Operate shipping systems (e.g., ERP/WMS, UPS/FedEx portals) to generate shipping labels and documentation Coordinate pickups with carriers and freight companies Inspect packages to ensure compliance with company standards and customer requirements Maintain records of all outbound shipments, including tracking information and shipping logs Ensure compliance with hazardous materials handling (if applicable) and DOT regulations Safely operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts (if certified) Communicate delays, shortages, or discrepancies to supervisors and appropriate teams Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with OSHA standards Assist with inventory management, cycle counts, and general warehouse duties as needed. Take photographs of parts before packing.
Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or GED 1-3 years of shipping, warehouse, or logistics experience (manufacturing environment preferred) Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, shipping software, or ERP systems) Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods Good communication and teamwork skills
Preferred:
Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain certification) Experience with WMS/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) Knowledge of domestic and international shipping procedures Familiarity with barcoding and inventory systems Work Environment Fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse setting Exposure to noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required Physical Requirements Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching Manual dexterity to handle small parts and packaging materials Monday-Friday 7:30am-4pm
