Shipping Associate I Job Description The Shipping Associate I prepares and packages products for shipment, ensures shipping paperwork is accurate, and helps get orders out on time. This role supports smooth, high-quality deliveries in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Review job travelers, material certifications, and shipping documents to ensure completeness, accuracy, and conformance with all customer and internal requirements. Check orders for special labeling, packaging, and documentation requirements. Pack products securely using the appropriate boxes, labels, and materials. Monitor the daily shipping queue to keep orders moving on time. Wrap, strap, label, and prepare pallets for carrier pickup. Communicate potential shipping delays to supervisors and team members. Provide shipment updates and pickup status as needed. Deliver urgent shipments to local carrier hubs when necessary. Enter shipping data and maintain accurate records. Support shipping, receiving, and other team operations as needed. Safely handle materials and operate pallet jacks and related equipment. Assist with additional tasks assigned by the supervisor. Essential Skills Experience using MRP/ERP software systems for shipping and inventory-related tasks. Ability to package sensitive parts in a safe and secure manner. Manufacturing shipping and receiving experience. Familiar with UPS, FedEx, DHL, and ERP/MRP systems. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong data entry, organization, and attention to detail. Able to safely operate pallet jacks and handle materials. Strong communication, multitasking, and time management skills in a fast-paced environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Additional related training and education in logistics, supply chain, or manufacturing is preferred. Experience with inventory control processes and systems. Experience in shipping and receiving in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Familiarity with pick processes and order fulfillment workflows. Work Environment This role operates in a manufacturing-based shipping environment that is fast-paced, time-sensitive, and high volume. You work with pallets, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment while preparing products for shipment. Daily tasks involve using shipping software for UPS, FedEx, and DHL, as well as MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications to manage documentation and shipping queues. The position requires regular review of shipping documents, material certifications, and job travelers, as well as coordination with second shift supervisors and carriers regarding pending pickups. The environment emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork while handling sensitive parts and preparing pallets for carrier pickup. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milpitas, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
