The Receiving Lead coordinates daily receiving operations within the distribution center and serves as a working lead for the receiving team. This role supports accurate, timely receipt, inspection, processing, and storage of incoming materials while promoting a safe, organized, and productive warehouse environment.
What you will do:
Lead daily receiving operations and prioritize inbound workload to support timely processing of shipments.
Coordinate unloading, inspection, verification, and put-away of incoming products and materials.
Verify quantities, product condition, and documentation against packing slips, purchase orders, and bills of lading.
Investigate and help resolve receiving discrepancies, damaged shipments, and vendor-related issues.
Ensure products are accurately scanned, labeled, and stored in designated warehouse locations.
Monitor receiving workflow and support productivity, service, and inventory accuracy goals.
Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and inventory accuracy initiatives.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.
Train, coach, and support receiving associates on warehouse processes, safety practices, and company procedures.
Promote safety, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready receiving area.
Communicate with Purchasing, Inventory Control, Operations, and branch personnel regarding inbound shipments and inventory concerns.
Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Position is responsible for turning in discrepancy paperwork daily.
What you will bring:
High school diploma or GED required.
3+ years of warehouse, receiving, distribution, or logistics experience.
Previous lead, team lead, or supervisory experience preferred.
Experience using warehouse management systems, RF scanners, and inventory control processes.
Strong knowledge of receiving, inventory management, and warehouse operations.
Ability to identify process improvements and resolve operational issues.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and warehouse technology systems.
Electrical distribution industry experience preferred but not required.
Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
Regular standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing.
Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
Warehouse environment with varying temperatures and moderate noise levels.
Required use of appropriate personal protective equipment and adherence to all safety policies.

This role is based in San Leandro, CA.
Work hours:
5:00 AM - 1:30
PM Salary Range:
This is a non-exempt position and pays between $25.48 - $29.73 per hour. This salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, within California.
