SUMMARY OF POSITION
Material Controls Associate & Shipping & Receiving clerk manages the receipt, storage, and movement of materials within a facility. This role involves verifying quantities, entering data into inventory systems, and ensuring materials are stored and handled safely. They also prepare materials for shipment, maintain records, and will participate in physical inventory counts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
This list reflects the core duties of the position but is not intended to be all-inclusive. Maintain inventory and support internal and external audits. Complete monthly inventory closeouts, receiving documentation, and assist with loading & unloading incoming shipments. Receiving, verifying, and storing incoming materials, ensuring accurate inventory levels. Managing the flow of goods into and out of a facility. Preparing, packaging, and shipping outgoing orders. Operate a forklift, pallet jack, or other material-handling equipment Inspect incoming materials for damage or discrepancies Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips Unloading incoming deliveries and materials and Loading trucks for shipment Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE A
combination of education and experience that supports successful job performance will be considered. High school diploma or GED. 2+ years of experience in a tool crib, warehouse, inventory control, or related environment. Mechanical aptitude and understanding of loading and unloading procedures. Familiarity with software tools including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate with management to support operational performance. Proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate needs and complete tasks independently. Must meet Export Control requirements; position requires status as a "U.S. Person" under 22 C.F.R. §.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Forklift and crane operation skills. Safety training or certifications.
