ABOUT THE ROLE
Behind every successful shipment is someone who made sure it was done right. As our Shipping & Receiving Clerk , you'll own the flow of materials in and out of our facility, receiving deliveries, inspecting incoming parts, preparing shipments, coordinating, and ensuring every order leaves accurately and on time. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a busy manufacturing environment, takes pride in organization, and understands that attention to detail keeps the entire operation moving.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Receive products from vendor deliveries and unload trucks with forklift. Inspects and measures items for dimensional accuracy, fit, alignment, and functional operation according to blueprints, parts manuals, company standards, and other specifications using precision measuring instruments and devices. Compare packing lists to company purchase orders and ensure that the products in each delivery match the packing list. Package products for return to vendors and fill out any paperwork necessary prior to the shipment being picked up. Label and store received goods appropriately and updates electronic records. Process loss freight or shipping damage claims. Verify freight bills with the Accounting department and resolve errors with carriers. Approves or rejects inaccurate or unacceptable orders received in the Inventory system and record inspection information. Fabricate shipping containers and crates, as needed. Prepare packing lists, Bill of Ladings, and other shipping documentation. Inspect all outgoing shipments to ensure proper packaging, address information, and item accuracy before shipments are made. Prepare and package materials for shipment. Must be available on various hours/shifts for shipments to go out, as necessary. Responsible to ensure all items and quantities are accurate prior to shipment. Expected to demonstrate compatibility with ASC's stated Team Values that include working safely, having a positive attitude, leading by example, showing an eagerness to learn, being a team player, working efficiently, and focusing on producing quality work. Perform all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent required. 1-2 years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, or related experience preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to type at least 25 WPM. Experience using basic hand tools and measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, or digital multimeters is a plus. Forklift experience is a plus. Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. regularly. Comfortable standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting throughout a 10-hour shift. Ability to use hand and power tools safely. Comfortable working in a manufacturing and warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
