Principle Duties and Responsibilities
SHIPPING
Responsible for preparation of product for timely shipment to both end-customer and outside processing vendors in accordance with company procedures and customer requirements. Accurate completion of records of shipment, bills of lading, internal shipping documents and other "carrier-specific" forms required by freight carriers for transport. Verifies and records all items loaded for shipment and completes shipping reports. Schedule convenient pick up of freight by various carriers. Tracks inbound and outbound freight. Performs freight company cost comparisons and applies best practices for cost savings. Maintains integrity and accuracy of all shipments through documentation verification and following standard work procedures.
RECEIVING
Responsible for unpacking and performing appropriate receiving activities of all incoming shipments. Verifies items received against purchase order and noting any discrepancies. Completes receiving documentation and performs data entry of purchase order receipts into receiving log and ERP database. Reports damaged items, move material to appropriate MRB area for Quality disposition and maintains status of material or items in review. Scan and upload all packing slips, certificates of conformance and certificates of analysis as an attachment as part of the receiving process, as appropriate. Generate raw material inventory identification labels and store material in assigned location(s). New locations will be created and assigned as required. Maintains and organizes inventory of finished goods and raw materials. Assists Purchasing/Accounting Departments with receipt/invoice discrepancy resolution as needed. Performs weekly cycle counts. Ability to perform driver responsibilities to support product delivery activities as required. Operation of forklift for material handling purposes, as well as performing safety checklist requirements of equipment Contacts vendors and reconciles missing or incorrect documentation for incoming receipts.
OTHER DUTIES
Assist with other supply chain activities as needed. Experience and Education Minimum 1-year experience in a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment. Technical Skills Ability to properly count, weigh, and verify finished goods and raw material. Working knowledge of computer operations including data entry and basic office skills. Ability to meet physical demands of lifting or carrying up to 50lbs, bending, standing or sitting, pushing or pulling, climbing stairs, and driving, as needed. Valid state motor vehicle operator's license. Valid forklift operator's license. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization (written, verbal, computer). Organizational Relationships Communicate with all levels of the organization to ensure customer requirements and delivery schedules are met.
