Shipping & Receiving Clerk

General Description:

This position is responsible for preparing and processing shipments and outgoing mail, conducting facility maintenance and receiving facility deliveries.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

Verifies and records incoming and outgoing shipments Prepares items for shipments Compares identifying information and counts Weighs or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records Determines best method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates Prepares packages for shipment; includes assembling containers, packaging, securing closure and affixing labels Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify issues Routes items to internal departments Maintains inventory of shipping materials, marketing materials and product Assists with facilities maintenance as needed Regular onsite attendance is an essential function of this position Additional duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

HS diploma Ability to regularly lift up to 25 pounds Ability to stand and/or walk the majority of shift 1+ years in a mail/shipping environment a plus
