Job Title:
Truck Receiving Clerk Job Description The Truck Receiving Clerk manages the check-in and check-out process for trucks and containers, ensuring accurate documentation and a smooth flow of traffic on site. This role uses a yard management system to track containers, supports truck drivers with required paperwork, and provides professional customer service while working independently in a busy environment. Responsibilities Use the yard management system to accurately check containers in and out according to established protocols. Follow all company procedures for receiving and releasing trucks and containers. Print and prepare all necessary documents for truck drivers in a timely and accurate manner. Greet and communicate with truck drivers when they arrive on site, providing clear instructions and assistance as needed. Maintain a professional demeanor in all interactions with drivers and colleagues. Work independently to manage daily tasks and keep operations running smoothly without constant supervision. Stay motivated and proactively look for tasks to stay productive during slower periods. Move between the office and yard as needed to support truck receiving activities. Essential Skills Customer service experience, including communicating clearly and professionally with drivers and visitors. Experience with truck delivery or logistics environments. Ability to learn and use a yard management system and other basic computer applications. Ability to follow detailed protocols and procedures accurately. Capability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Professional communication skills, both in person and over the phone. Additional Skills & Qualifications Willingness to be trained on a user-friendly yard management system. Comfort working both inside an office and periodically in the yard. Reliability to work a consistent Monday-Friday schedule from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Motivated, self-starter attitude with a focus on staying busy and productive. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based primarily in an inside office setting, using a yard management system and standard office equipment to manage truck and container documentation. You will also need to go out into the yard as part of the receiving process, so you should be comfortable moving between indoor and outdoor areas. The schedule runs Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, offering a consistent daytime shift. The environment emphasizes professionalism, independent work, and regular interaction with truck drivers and operations staff. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Savannah, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
