Job Summary:
The Shipping & Receiving Personnel will move materials throughout the facilities, maintain inventory records, and generate shipping and receiving documents.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Ships product and coordinates receipt of loads. This includes loading, unloading, wrapping, and putting away product within the shop. Manually tracks inventory and shipments accurately through written documentation. Verifies product quantities and ensures proper documentation through hand-written tickets. Weighs and measures product quantities using an electronic scale. Maintains accurate shipping and receiving records. Follows proper safety, quality, and other company policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Applicants should be able to speak, understand, read, and write in English, and speak and understand Spanish. Neat penmanship in order to ensure packing slips, move and delivery tickets, and more are legible. Team player with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Basic computer experience. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to weighing and measuring shipments. Reliable with excellent time management skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines and arrive to work on-time. Once trained, should be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Education and Experience:
Forklift experience required. Experience operating a sit-down forklift preferred. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior shipping and receiving experience preferred.
Work Environment:
This job takes place within a shop environment which includes exposure to moderate to loud machine noise, vibrations, and fluctuating seasonal temperatures. Steel toed boots or appropriate PPE is required.
Physical Requirements:
Able to stand and be on your feet for long periods of time, lift and move barrels. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
