Shipping/Receiving Assistant

This position keeps records of all products received and prepares labels/documents for outbound shipments. Assist in day-to-day operations, prepare orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in the delivery area and storing inventory in an accessible manner. Unload and load goods in containers and ensure that all orders have been filled correctly.

Core Responsibilities:

Obtain shipping quotes. Receive incoming shipments Accepting delivery of inventory. Sorting and placing warehouse items, as directed by organizational standards. Maintaining inventory controls. Performing warehouse inventory controls and keeping quality standards high for audits Inspecting inventory for damage and faults. Communicating errors with relevant parties. Marking and labeling stock. Storing inventory in an accessible manner. Assisting shipping and receiving by unloading trucks and checking in products or materials. Preparing orders by processing requests, pulling orders, packing boxes and transporting packages to the shipping area and print labels, Wrapping and banding outgoing shipments on pallets. Building loads with forklift and pallet jack. Loading and unloading delivery vehicles. Generate documents and labels for outgoing shipments Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures Contributes to team effort by assisting other departments Assume other responsibilities as necessary and directed. Ensuring thorough good housekeeping and safety habits

Qualifications:

High school education plus a minimum of two years' experience in Shipping and Receiving. Good English communication skills, both written and oral. Excellent attention to detail and consistency. Ability to work on many projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks and customer requests to complete by required customer dates. Ability to interact with Company and customer personnel at all levels Strong organizational skills and follow-through. Initiative and desire to contribute to the overall Company goals through a leadership role. Data entry experience, preferably in Windows environment. Ability to operate various hand tools and equipment to include a computer and hand truck. Requires ability to pass forklift operator course and drive a forklift.
