Job Title:
Shipping and Receiving Clerk - 1ST
SHIFT START ASAP
Job Description The Shipping and Receiving Clerk accurately receives, labels, and routes incoming products while preparing outbound shipments in a timely and organized manner. This role involves verifying purchase orders, performing detailed counts, scanning items into containers, and updating inventory systems to support efficient e-fulfillment warehouse operations. Responsibilities Match incoming products against purchase orders to verify accuracy of items received. Physically receive, count, and label products to ensure precise identification and tracking. Designate received products to the appropriate site or area based on operational needs. Scan each item into the correct container, such as pallets or bins, to prepare for shipment. Ensure outbound shipments are prepared and shipped in a timely and organized manner. Use pallet jacks and forklifts to move products safely throughout the facility. Enter data into the computer system, including inventory updates and part numbers. Support inventory control activities, including cycle counts and stock checks. Use RF scanners to track product movement, loading activities, and inventory updates. Assist with general labor tasks related to shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations. Maintain high attention to detail when counting, labeling, and recording inventory. Follow established warehouse processes and procedures learned during training. Adhere to safety guidelines, including proper use of equipment and required footwear. Essential Skills At least 2 years of shipping and/or receiving experience. At least 2 years of receiving experience in a warehouse or similar environment. Intermediate computer skills, including accurate data entry. Strong attention to detail and accurate counting ability. Experience with shipping and receiving processes, including picking and packing. Ability to operate a pallet jack to move product throughout the facility. Ability to operate or learn to operate a forklift safely. Experience with inventory control and cycle counts. Ability to use RF scanners for inventory and shipment tracking. Capability to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted. Willingness to perform general labor tasks related to warehouse operations. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with packaging and packing for outbound shipments. Comfort working with inventory systems and part number tracking. Interest in receiving forklift training provided by the employer. Ability to work overtime when needed, with advance notice. Strong organizational skills and ability to follow established processes. Reliability and consistency in meeting daily shipping and receiving deadlines. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in an e-fulfillment warehouse that focuses on efficient implementation and optimization of facility operations. The standard schedule runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with overtime available as needed and communicated in advance. The environment involves physical work such as lifting up to 40 lbs and moving products throughout the facility. The dress code requires steel-toed shoes and jeans to support safety and comfort while working on the warehouse floor. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Hartford, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
