Consisting of a range of operational and administrative duties. This position is responsible for operating the weigh scales (outside of a scale house), scale computer and software programs, data entry and record keeping for operations. Position is also required to screen and record incoming loads at the scale house, direct vehicles entering and leaving the facility, and perform spotter duties when required. Must be able to function with minimal supervision and able to multitask.Essential Functions:
Adheres to all Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Enviromental standards. Provide a safe enviroment for all employees, customers and visitors. Coordinate with office personnel to ensure accurate and timely documentation of all purchasing transactions. Conduct scale operations and evaluate incoming products: identify contents of each load, operate the incoming scale to determine weight, and direct customers to appropriate areas for unloading.Operate outgoing scale:
identify commodity codes, and compute ticket totals for payment. Equipment maintenance Test in and out bound scales for accuracy and report all equipment malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor. Keep track of the ticket materials, properly ID vehicles & personnel, request required legal documentation of customers. Direct weight materials, inbound & outbound, into process area. Adhere to all ISO Procedures and Work Instructions Responsible for daily housekeeping duties including but not limited to immediate work area. Troubleshoot work related problems using job knowledge, experience, and by communicating with others. Other duties as assigned.Responsibilities of a weighmaster:
Operate scale to effectively weigh all inbound and outbound trucks. Review, inspect, and document inbound loads. Direct drivers to the proper yard location for loading/unloading. Complete all required documentation for vehicles and loads entering or leaving the yard. Positive, punctual, and professional at all times. Participate in the testing of scales for accuracy and report any malfunctions or concerns to the Assistant Manager and Plant Manager.Qualifications:
Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with excellent strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills. Bilingual a plus. Basic computer skills. Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency. Flexibility to meet the business needs. Must be able to learn quickly and multitask.
