Job Description

Job Title:
Receiving Forklift Operator Job Description This role focuses on accurately receiving inbound materials, managing inventory, and updating an internal operating system while occasionally operating a forklift. You will work closely with another receiver, complete a structured training period, and contribute to efficient warehouse operations through careful material handling and documentation. Responsibilities Scan all inbound materials into the operating system with a high level of accuracy. Unload inbound materials safely using a forklift when required. Perform day-to-day inventory management, including tracking, organizing, and verifying stock levels. Log and document inbound materials in the system, which will make up the majority of daily tasks. Adapt to and effectively use an older operating system to complete receiving and inventory tasks. Collaborate and coordinate daily activities with one other receiver in the department. Handle materials safely and lift items weighing up to 50 lbs as part of regular duties. Support overall shipping and receiving processes, including unloading and organizing materials in designated areas. Follow established safety procedures and warehouse guidelines during all material handling and forklift operations. Participate in a two-week training period and then work independently while maintaining performance and accuracy standards. Essential Skills At least 1 year of receiving experience in a warehouse or similar environment. At least 1 year of forklift operating experience. Proficient basic computer skills to navigate and update an operating system. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis. Experience with material handling tasks such as unloading, staging, and organizing materials. Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving processes. Inventory management experience, including counting, tracking, and recording stock. Ability to adapt to and work effectively with an older operating system. Strong attention to detail and accuracy when logging inbound materials. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior inventory-specific experience beyond general receiving duties is a plus. Comfort working in a warehouse environment with varying daily workloads. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with another receiver. Willingness to occasionally work extended hours and some Saturdays with advance notice. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elkhart, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.21 - $20.21/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
