Job Description

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk/Dock Assistant works in a very fast paced environment in support of shipping and receiving products. This position has customer service and clerical responsibilities and physical responsibilities in the shop/dock. This position serves as a gatekeeper to ensure items are prepared and organized to go out for shipment.
Work Schedule:
M-F 7am-3:30pm (with overtime as needed to meet project deadlines; overtime involves working until 5:30pm)
Essential Functions:
Contacts customers by phone to coordinate delivery of cabinet projects, providing exceptional service throughout exchange with the customers. Coordinates 3rd party delivery vendor deliveries. Performs clerical duties to include completing paperwork for deliveries, entering data into software program to close jobs, printing/scanning, coordinating all paperwork items including invoices for drivers and office. Serves as contact for all non-wood deliveries, coordinates and delivers items to appropriate area. Packages items to be sent out via UPS or other sources as needed. Coordinates miscellaneous items that go on delivery truck (hardware, onyx tops, counter tops, etc.) Assists in unloading carrier trucks, receives pallets, checks all items in, and puts items away in breezeway, and/or delivers items to front office. Coordinates correction work (green sheets) as it gets to final stages, to ensure completion and shipment to customer (once complete). This includes going to the different areas in the shop to seek the item(s) needed for shipment. In coordination with customer service team, oversees sample doors to ensure they are sent to customer in defined timing. Maintains a keen eye for detail to serve as a quality review and if project has flaws, incorrect materials/construction, reroutes project for additional quality review and/or possible correction. Exemplifies cross-department teamwork and partnerships, including working closely with Paint and Stain Dept for processing inventory and remakes. Adheres to Great Game of Business (GGOB) principles by supporting department huddles, financial updates and critical number mini games. Works overtime on a consistent basis to ensure shipping/receiving project completion at end of day to ensure workload is complete. Serves as a back up to assist dock personnel to complete assembly if/when necessary. HS Diploma or equivalent preferred Strong attention to detail required Proficiency in MS Office Suite with ability to learn new software as needed Excellent follow-up / follow through skills/abilities Ability to multi-task with efficiency and accuracy Ability to learn Custom Wood Products business processes/systems Demonstrate logical thinking and ability to solve problems Effective communication skills (verbally and written) Effective teamwork skills/abilities, including ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with Delivery team, Paint/Stain team, and other departments as needed Must be able to lift/carry 70 lbs.
