Brief Description Role We are looking for an experienced full-time receiver to be responsible for and manage (1) our significant inventory from its delivery to the store to be ready to be stocked on the shelves, and (2) shipping all outgoing packages.

Qualifications:

Responsibilities

• Efficiently manage 50 to 100 cartons a day of iing inventory
• Take possession of andanize iing shipments by order number
• Transport inventory to the back storage room
• Ensure all items are correctly labeled and stored safely
• Maintain a clean andanized storage space, including breaking down and removing recycling, distributing packages to staff, etc.
• Communicate with buyers to align on receiving priorities
• Review purchase orders and match shipped items to those that were ordered
• Manage and follow-up on shipment discrepancies/damages
• Keep in closemunication with the accounting team
• Diligently follow accounting processes for verifying the accuracy of orders
• Ship all packages from the store, and keep track of shipping supplies
• Maintain a customer-first mindset when interacting with customers
• Reinforce safety practices and processes to ensure a safe work environment
• Coordinate operations and periodically review processes for opportunities to improve
• Price books and gifts, as needed Requirements
• Previous experience working in a retail setting, esp. receiving or backroom
• Comfortable working without a loading dock and in tight spaces
• Able to work in a fast-paced, highly physical role (e.g., stand and walk for long periods and bend, stoop, and lift 50 lbs. boxes)
• Willing to work in weather (getting inventory inside is vital in weather)
• Detailed-oriented with strong spatialanizing skills
• Familiarity with inventory software, as well as shipping and label ing programs for USPS, Media Mail, UPS, FedEx, and Freight
• Instincts, aptitude, and patience tomunicate effectively
• Able to juggle several things and maintain a pleasant disposition
• Fluent in English
• Passionate about books, preferred
• Familiarity with WordStock, a plus Special Considerations
• Looking for long-term, 40hr/wk employee
• Roughly five eight-hour shifts Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday, 9am-6pm or 10am-7pm or 11am-8pm, with some schedule flexibility possible; could include some later shifts into the evening or until closing time
• Compensation is hourly, with potential for overtime and a year-end bonus for exceptional performance
