Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our fast-paced warehouse team. In this vital role, you will oversee the efficient movement of goods, ensuring accurate receipt, storage, and dispatch of products. Your proactive approach will help maintain seamless warehouse operations, support order fulfillment, and uphold safety standards. Responsibilities Receive incoming shipments by inspecting deliveries, verifying quantities against purchase orders, and recording receipt details using warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners. Prepare outgoing shipments by selecting, packing, and labeling products accurately according to customer specifications and shipping guidelines. Operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and order pickers safely to load and unload trucks, stock shelves, and organize warehouse inventory. Manage stock levels through proper stocking procedures, order picking, and inventory updates in systems such as AS400 or MRP software. Ensure proper packaging of products for shipment to prevent damage during transit while adhering to safety standards. Maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities, including inbound/outbound logs and incident reports. Collaborate with warehouse management systems to optimize warehouse distribution processes and support order fulfillment efficiency. Skills Proven experience with warehouse operations including shipping & receiving, order picking & packing, and stock management. Certification or experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400 or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, and RF scanners for inventory control. Strong basic math skills for counting, measurements, and verifying shipment quantities accurately. Knowledge of e-commerce logistics processes including packaging standards for online orders. Ability to perform physical tasks such as load & unload trucks, stock shelves, and operate warehouse equipment safely. Excellent attention to detail combined with organizational skills necessary for efficient order fulfillment.
