Due to our continued growth, Wright Manufacturing, Inc. (WMI), an award-winning producer of commercial-grade lawn equipment, is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Receiving and Inventory Control Clerk to join our Internal Logistics Operations team. As a Receiving and Inventory Control Clerk, you will play a critical role in supporting our Receiving, Inventory Control, and Internal Conveyance operations. You will gain experience across multiple areas of Internal Logistics while helping ensure inventory accuracy, efficient material flow, and timely support for production. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy hands-on work, and take pride in teamwork, organization, and continuous improvement. Overtime may be required on a daily or weekly basis. Essential Functions of the
Receiving and Inventory Control Clerk:
Receiving and Material Handling Operate sit-down forklifts as needed to unload inbound trucks and support daily receiving activities Assist with cardboard and wood waste management and maintain organized dock areas Support inbound Receiving functions during periods of high demand Fill in for other team members as operational needs require Inventory Control Operate stand-up reach trucks to perform dock-to-stock putaway activities Maintain proactive FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices Perform cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy Execute home location changes and support inventory organization Complete administrative and physical tasks related to Product Deviations and Engineering Change Orders Internal Logistics Support Assist the Internal Conveyance team with material handling responsibilities Respond promptly to Andon calls from internal teams Support cross-functional logistics activities as needed to maintain workflow efficiency Continuous Improvement Cross-train with the Shipping and PFD teams to expand knowledge of Internal Logistics Operations Participate in all 5S methodology initiatives to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workplace Develop and maintain a Kaizen mindset of Continuous Improvement and actively contribute to Kaizen activities
Requirements:
Qualified candidates for our Receiving and Inventory Control Clerk role should be able to demonstrate: Prior forklift operating experience is required Previous Receiving or Inventory Control experience is highly preferred Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis Experience working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Ability to maintain a high level of physical activity for prolonged periods while working primarily in a standing position Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office is preferred Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team Ability to solve problems quickly and prioritize daily tasks according to business needs Personal accountability and integrity Good written and verbal communication skills Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous warehouse, receiving, inventory control, logistics, distribution, or manufacturing experience preferred Prior forklift operating experience required Experience with warehouse inventory systems and material handling equipment preferred WMI is committed to cross-training and inter-department personnel movements.
