Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated Receiving and Shipping Associate to join our dynamic logistics team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth flow of goods through accurate receipt, storage, and dispatch processes. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and possess a strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and shipping logistics. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to efficient supply chain management while developing skills in warehouse systems and international trade compliance. Duties Receive incoming shipments by verifying quantities and inspecting for damages, ensuring compliance with shipping documents and trade regulations. Accurately record receipt data into warehouse management systems and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software such as AS400 or similar platforms. Prepare outgoing shipments by selecting appropriate packaging, labeling, and documentation in accordance with customer requirements and international trade regulations. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and order pickers to load and unload goods safely and efficiently. Maintain inventory accuracy through regular stock counts, data entry, and updating inventory management software. Collaborate with warehouse distribution teams to organize stock placement, stocking procedures, and order fulfillment. Ensure compliance with shipping & receiving protocols, including proper packaging standards and trade compliance procedures. Assist in the organization of warehouse space for optimal workflow and safety standards. Support logistics coordination by tracking shipments, preparing shipping documentation, and managing delivery schedules. Contribute to continuous process improvements in warehouse operations to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Skills Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management software, and ERP systems such as AS400. Strong knowledge of shipping logistics, order picking & packing, and international trade regulations. Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and other warehouse equipment safely. Excellent data entry skills coupled with basic math proficiency for inventory calculations. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications for reporting and documentation purposes. Demonstrated ability to manage warehouse operations efficiently while maintaining safety standards. Customer service orientation with effective communication skills for interacting with vendors, carriers, and internal teams. Knowledge of trade compliance requirements related to international shipments. Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities within a fast-paced warehouse environment. This position is integral to maintaining seamless supply chain operations.
