Job Description

Shipping/Receiving Clerk (Contingent) The Shipping/Receiving Clerk supports logistics operations by managing the receipt, inspection, storage, and shipment of materials and equipment. This role ensures compliance with Navy logistics procedures and supports mission readiness through accurate and timely handling of inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
  • Prepare outgoing shipments by packaging, labeling, and documenting materials per Navy and DoD standards.
  • Maintain accurate shipping and receiving logs and inventory records.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff, logistics personnel, and vendors to ensure timely delivery and dispatch.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Ensure proper storage of materials in designated warehouse locations.
  • Support inventory audits and cycle counts.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shipping/receiving area.
  • Report discrepancies or damaged goods to supervisors promptly.
  • Assist with logistics documentation and data entry into Navy logistics systems (e.
g., R-Supply, ERP).
Required Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • 1-3 years of experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse operations
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Familiarity with DoD or Navy logistics procedures preferred
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, inventory systems)
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting Navy or DoD logistics contracts
  • Knowledge of Navy supply systems and documentation
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
Compensation:
$47,500 - $50,000 per year Compensation for positions at Centurum vary depending on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, location, responsibilities, skill set, and level of experience.
