Job Description

Position Summary:
The Material Coordinator is responsible for performing a variety of warehouse tasks, including the receiving, storing, and shipping of goods. This position involves handling complex tasks such as inventory management, order processing, and equipment operations. The Material Coordinator plays a critical role in maintaining the efficiency and organization of warehouse operations.
Essential Job Functions:
Unload and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage Examine incoming and outgoing shipments for quality issues. Properly store inventory in designated areas to ensure easy retrieval and safe handling. Assist with inventory control by verifying stock quantities and entering data into warehouse management systems (WMS). Through the utilization of the Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP), prepare and process orders, make sure proper transportation methods are applied and confirm timely delivery. Verify production order outputs to guarantee accurate paperwork transactions. Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to customer specifications. Using a forklift, load and unload deliveries of materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and distribute to the warehouse appropriately. Ensure orders are packed securely and labeled correctly for shipment. Maintain productivity standards for order picking and processing. Monitor stock levels and assist in maintaining accurate inventory records Conduct regular inventory counts, including cycle counts, and report discrepancies to management. Organize and manage warehouse space to maximize storage capacity and facilitate easy access to goods. Organize and maintain inventory and storage within the warehouse using First In, First Out inventory concepts. Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading, shipping labels, and manifests. Coordinate with carriers to ensure timely pickup and delivery of orders. Ensure all outgoing shipments are correct and processed on time. Responsible for shipping all hazardous materials. Collaborate on improving shipping and receiving processes Safely operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks Conduct routine checks on equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation Ensures the accuracy of standard operating procedures and will update them as needed. Follow all warehouse safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to OSHA guidelines. Assist in identifying and addressing potential hazards in the warehouse environment. Identify and address any discrepancies or issues with inventory, orders, or shipping in a timely manner. Detect and report defective equipment, material, and conditions that may compromise safety, quality, or customer requirements. Report all quality issues to department supervisor. All other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent 1-2 years of experience working in a warehouse or logistics operations. 2-3 years' experience in working with ERP system. 2-3 years' experience in operating a forklift. 2-3 years' experience working with warehouse scanners or bar-coding equipment. Basic math skills are required Demonstrates the ability to work effectively within diverse teams, actively contributing ideas, supporting co-workers, and achieving common objectives. Adapts to different working styles, communicates openly, and fosters a positive team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified to
CPIM, CLTD, CSCP - APICS/ASCM
accreditation. Experience with inventory control and cycle counting. Familiarity with shipping software and documentation 2-5 years' experience working in a distribution/manufacturing warehouse environment.
