Job Title:
Shipping and Receiving Specialist - 1st shift - $20-24/hr depending on experience! Job Description The Shipping and Receiving Specialist oversees all shipping and receiving operations for aluminum railing products, ensuring accurate inventory control, timely freight coordination, and safe material handling. This role uses ERP software and material handling equipment to process shipments, maintain inventory records, and organize the shipping and receiving area while supporting the implementation of the company's ERP system. Responsibilities Oversee and execute all daily shipping and receiving operations for aluminum railing products. Utilize ERP software to process outbound shipments, receive incoming materials, and maintain accurate inventory records. Help implement and optimize the ERP system for the organization, including navigation and process improvements. Operate a sit-down forklift to safely move, load, unload, and stage pallets of aluminum railings and related materials. Prepare products for shipment by operating wrapping equipment and ensuring secure, damage-free packaging. Create accurate packing lists and shipping documentation for outbound orders, including shipping labels and related paperwork. Coordinate freight shipments through carriers such as RXO, Priority1, and Echo Logistics, ensuring on-time pickups and deliveries. Maintain inventory accuracy through regular inventory counts and reconciliation within the ERP and inventory systems. Own the organization and cleanliness of the shipping and receiving area to support efficient and safe operations. Ensure all shipments meet company standards for quality, accuracy, and documentation prior to departure. Load and unload trucks in a safe and efficient manner while adhering to material handling procedures. Essential Skills Minimum 2+ years of shipping and receiving experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment. Minimum 2+ years of sit-down forklift operating experience, including loading, unloading, and staging pallets. Minimum 2+ years of ERP system navigation experience for processing shipments and managing inventory. Proficiency using ERP and inventory systems to process orders, track materials, and maintain accurate records. Experience creating and managing shipping packing lists and shipping documents. Ability to generate and apply shipping labels and documentation for outbound freight. Hands-on experience with loading and unloading freight and performing inventory counts. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, inventory tracking, and shipment preparation. Ability to work safely in a loud, fast-paced warehouse or production environment. Capability to coordinate freight shipments and communicate clearly with logistics partners. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience shipping metal or aluminum products is preferred. Familiarity with freight shipment coordination through RXO, Priority1, and Echo Logistics. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices to support process efficiencies. Comfort using wrapping equipment and other material handling tools. Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain a well-structured shipping and receiving area. Willingness to grow into expanded responsibilities as the company scales. Reliability in maintaining consistent attendance on a Monday-Friday day shift. Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a Monday-Friday role with a regular shift from 6:30 am to 2:30 pm, providing a consistent daytime schedule. You will work in a loud, active warehouse and production setting alongside a team of roughly 20 people, using ERP systems, forklifts, wrapping equipment, and standard shipping tools. The environment emphasizes safety and proper attire, requiring long pants, steel-toed boots or shoes, and a plain tee-shirt while on the floor. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
