Job Description
Job Overview:
The Shipping Associate is primarily responsible for preparing, packaging, and shipping customer orders accurately and efficiently. The Shipping Associate works closely with warehouse, inventory, and transportation teams to ensure customer shipments are processed on time and in accordance with company quality and safety standards. This is an on-site hourly position and will require a daily presence at our RectorSeal Earth City, MO facility, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays.Key Responsibilities:
Pick, verify, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment. Review shipping documents, customer orders, packing slips, and bills of lading for accuracy. Process shipments using warehouse management systems, scanners, and shipping software. Load and unload trailers, containers, and delivery vehicles safely and efficiently. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment following company safety procedures. Generate and apply shipping labels and required shipping documentation. Inspect products and packaging for damage prior to shipment and report discrepancies. Stage completed orders for carrier pick-up and delivery. Maintain inventory accuracy through proper product handling and transaction recording. Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory activities as required. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment. Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure daily objectives are met. Assist in other warehouse functions as assigned.Minimum Requirements:
1+ year of recent warehouse, shipping, logistics, or distribution experience preferred. Experience using RF scanners, shipping software, or warehouse management systems. Ability to speak, read, and write in English. Basic arithmetic skills involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.Preferred Requirements:
Forklift certification or previous forklift operating experience. Experience operating pallet jacks, reach trucks, or similar warehouse equipment. Experience with inventory management or warehouse management systems (WMS). Previous experience in a fast-paced distribution or manufacturing environment. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.Skills/Competencies:
Proven work experience in warehouse setting Able to work independently and safely Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands and fingers to type or dial, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position requires computer use. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Benefits:
