The Opportunity The Shipping & Receiving Clerk/Coordinator is responsible for managing the flow of incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring accurate documentation, inventory tracking, and timely delivery. This role supports operational efficiency by verifying shipments, coordinating logistics, and maintaining a safe, organized workspace. This position reports directly to the Shipping Manager. Key Responsibilities Delivers items to appropriate departments or designated areas. Responsible for all receiving deliveries via UPS, FedEx, or other various courier services. Maintain clean and orderly work areas and ensure that all interfaces with the company are treated to a high level of customer service. Works proactively to promote teamwork at all levels of the company. Actively assists in continuous improvement activities and offers positive suggestions for improvements and innovations. Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules, security procedures and instructions. Perform all duties according to established safety policy including wearing all required PPEs to perform duties. This position will help keep departments in specs within all 5S and SQF guidelines and immediately report any food safety concerns to management. Inspects trailers to ensure internal walls, floors and roofs are structurally sound and not impervious to insects, rodents, and the elements. Accurately record receipts in JDE and maintain receiving logs and documentation. Performs other duties assigned by manager/supervisor. What You Need to Succeed
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in receiving, warehouse, shipping, or logistics operations preferred.
  • Ability to receive, inspect, and distribute incoming deliveries from UPS, FedEx, and other courier services.
  • Experience maintaining accurate receiving records, logs, and documentation.
  • Proficiency with JDE or similar ERP systems preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to inspect trailers for safety, cleanliness, and compliance standards.
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service and maintaining positive working relationships across departments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety practices, including proper use of required PPE.
  • Familiarity with 5S, SQF, and food safety requirements preferred.
  • Ability to maintain clean, organized work areas and follow company policies and procedures.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform additional duties as assigned and adapt to changing business needs.
