Job Description

Job Overview:
As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a crucial role in the logistics and fulfillment process, responsible for coordinating and managing shipments. Your primary responsibility is to ensure accurate and timely shipping of products to customers or other destinations.
Key Responsibilities:
Order Verification:
Review and verify accuracy of customer orders, including product types, quantities, and shipping addresses.
Packing:
Prepare items for shipment by selecting appropriate packaging materials, packing products securely, and labeling packages with shipping information.
Shipping Coordination:
Coordinate and schedule shipments with carriers or freight services, ensuring adherence to delivery schedules.
Documentation:
Generate shipping labels, packing slips, and other necessary documentation. Ensure all shipping paperwork is accurate and complete.
Inventory Management:
Update inventory records to reflect shipped items and report any discrepancies to the inventory control team.
Quality Control:
Inspect outgoing shipments for accuracy and completeness. Report and address any issues, damages, or shortages.
Communication:
Communicate with other departments, including the warehouse, customer service, and transportation, to relay information about shipments and address any concerns.
Customer Service:
Provide assistance to customers regarding shipment tracking, delivery inquiries, and other shipping-related matters.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and requirements, including hazardous materials handling, if applicable.
Returns Processing:
Handle returns and exchanges, process returns into inventory, and update records accordingly.
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidate must have some or all of the following Educational/Technical requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational Minimum of 2 years of experience in Logistics. Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related field is a plus. Proficiency in using shipping software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office applications. ​​​​​​​Preferred skills and abilities: ​​​​​​​Candidate must have some or all of the following skills and abilities:

Clear communication skills to interact with carriers, team members, and customers.

Ability to address shipping-related issues and find timely and effective solutions.

Ability to adapt to changes in shipping schedules, carrier requirements, and other logistics-related variables.

Understanding and prioritizing customer needs, providing excellent service. Attention to
Detail:
Precision in verifying orders, packing items, and preparing shipping documentation to avoid errors.
Organization Skills:
Ability to manage and organize shipments efficiently, especially during peak periods. Typically works in an office or shipping area within a warehouse or distribution center. May involve occasional lifting and moving of packages.
Pay:
$18.00 - $23.00 per hour
